It all began on a stormy night. Two penguins, Amber and Eric, needed a safe place to stay. It was so cold that Amber’s unique, purple beak was turning white too. All the other penguins had managed to swim away. But you see, Amber had an injured flipper and anyways, they had an egg which had a chance of hatching. Just then the egg rolled towards the sea, it dropped in the water and was swept by a giant wave.

But that was nineteen years ago. Now, on the tropical island of Fantasy (which is the name of the island), the egg turned into the most courageous penguin, Jade.  Jade has made a lot of friends, including, the human princess of Fantasy, named Nefer.

One day, Jade and Nefer made surf boards, out of banana leaves. They were having lot of fun, when suddenly they heard screaming. Then, they saw a ferocious shark skidding towards them. “Surf!”, yelled Jade. They both surfed and surfed until they came across a humongous wave. It swept them all the way to America.

“This looks different”, says Nefer. “What kind of island is this! “, exclaims Jade. Then all of a sudden everyone started yelling “PENGUIN!”, “PENGUIN!”.

But who was in the crowd! An aquarium keeper. “Oh! a penguin got out!”, he cried. So, he got a glass cage and caught Jade.

Nefer couldn’t let her B.F.F. get captured. So, she secretly followed the aquarium keeper. When the aquarium keeper wen t away from the penguin enclosure, Nefer freed Jade.

Jade told Nefer that the other penguins in the enclosure say that they used to live in the Arctic ocean but they were also captured by the aquarium keepers and they want to go back to their homes. “So we go to the Arctic”, said Nefer in a thoughtful voice. “These penguins say they will give us a hand”, said Jade.

So they went on a long trip, discovering new and exciting things along the way. When they reached the Arctic, they saw two penguins who were glum and not joining any activities. Then, Amber notices the penguin group and Nefer and Jade who were walking towards them.

“Eric! That penguin has a purple beak like. Is it possible that she is our daughter?”, said Amber astonishingly. This thought lit up a smile on Amber’s face as she scurried towards Jade. “My daughter! My daughter! you are back” Amber cried as she wrapped her flippers around Jade. She told Jade about everything that happened on that stormy night.

Jade was happy to meet her long lost parents but she still wanted to stay with Nefer. So she promised her parents that she will come to visit them every year. Eric smiled and said, “Go Jade, we are happy with all of your life choices and we will support you.”

As Jade left, Amber and Eric wiped a tear off their eye.
