” Bye Zoey! Be back by dawn!”.

My mom had agreed to let me explore the city, since I had recently turned 10. I caught a train to the city centre and when I got off,  I sighted a sign saying – “Magic Market”. Fascinated, I strolled into that wonderous market.

The market was bustling, so I had a difficult time getting around. The crowd was like waiting in a ginormous  herd for a go inside a famous petting zoo, with no lines. I spotted all sorts of strange things like bottles of plump red hearts, or maybe even GHOSTS! Wafting aromas overwhelmed me, while friendly conversations played in my ears. Sweat trickled down my forehead in the humid temperature, making  me feel  like I was going to die! Just then, I sensed a wave of cool air and I bolted towards it. To my surprise, the air was coming from some enchanted wind chimes. I swiftly purchased one and was about to leave when I heard a voice. “Hey, are you new around here?”, I spun around  and saw a girl in the neighbouring stall.

She wore a red top and a little black skirt underneath a black leather jacket,  embroidered with spikes . We got chatting and I soon found out that her name was Alan.

We were chatting happily when we were interrupted by a scream. It was the shop owner, Mr Pepperwinkle, the whale. “Oh no! Jagel took my ploe-melons!”. We asked him who was Jagel and he pointed at a  tough man in a red jacket, who was slipping into the crowd . We immediately followed him before he lost himself into the crowd completely.

We took a quick stop to buy an electric net and continued on. We were like lions stalking our prey but unable to catch it. After a while we saw the path splitting into 2 parallel routes, one at the top, one at the  bottom. Jagel took the bottom one. I suppose Alan must have had an idea, because she seized my hand leading me to the top. We followed Jagel until he halted. We took hold of the opportunity and catapulted the net over him. Alan jumped over the ledge, so I reluctantly joined her. We wrapped Jagel  in to a burrito and quickly called the police.

Mr. Pepperwinkle awarded us with few of his famous ploe-melons and the chief police, who was a towering bear, thanked us for catching the criminal that they had been trying to catch for ages. And I swore that I would never forget this day.
